Halloween

Well, another Halloween has come and gone. Although it does seem like it has been here a while for us. The girls and husband have been decorating for about 5 weeks.

Here are a few pictures of our Halloween fun.

M#1 carved this all by herself!

M#2 did a great job with a little help from Dad!

Here they are, the "cheer-less " leader and the Monster girl (daughter of Frankenstien), ready for trick or treating!

We went completely around our neighborhood and got entirely too much candy! But we had a really good time. Guess it's about time to pull out the Christmas decorations! (Oh no!)

Bird Town becomes Ghost Town

For halloween we created a haunted trail in our back year, complete with a mummy, a skeleton and a few ghosts that you may recognize as our birdtown. (after a few Dollar Store masks and some cheese cloth!)

Snow Day

Ok, don't be shocked by two posts in one day. I know, I know, this is more than I've done in the past 2 months.

We had a snow day today. Unexpected! No mad rush to the grocery store to strip it of bread and milk. There was a chance of mixed precip. this morning, nothing that would cause any problems.

I got up at my normal 5 am to get to the gym, but when I turned on the news and saw that it was damp and below 30, I groaned and layed back down. I woke up again at 6:15 with the news still on and hear the traffic reporter talking about all of the accidents on the interstate. Turns out that while I was sleeping, we had a big burst of snow and more than an inch was already on the ground. By 6:30 am, the highway patrol had already received 80 calls about accidents! If you know the area, you wouldn't be surprized. We don't handle frozen stuff here very well!

Any way, by 9 am, we had already been sledding and playing in the snow. Both my husband and I worked from home! We had pretty good day!

Baby Shower Gift

This is just a quick post to show the baby gift that I made for a friend that I work with. I enjoyed making them (really even though I started the jacket 4 times!) and especially giving it.

Fun Fun!

Just wanted to share a few pictures of the fun we've had this week. Both Pete and I took vacation this week while the girls are out of school. We didn't do much Monday, ran some errands and let the girls play all day with their friends. We had water play in the afternoon. We set up a water sprinkler and the girls rigged up a slide in the little pool. They were out there for over two hours.

Tuesday was the annual bike parade in a local town. The girls decorated their bikes and we walked down the street. It was very crowded! This will probably be the last time we go there for the forth. It was much more fun with 1/4 of the people. I mentioned to my neighbors that we should do a neighborhood parade next year. They sounded interested. Later in the evening we sat up our chairs in the cul-de-sac and all watch the dads set off some small fireworks and we played with sparklers. That was fun and brought back lots of good memories!

Yesterday we spent the day at Wet'n'Wild! We had a really nice time. The girls had a blast. We played in the wave pool, jumped from a pirate ship, rode a lazy river ride, and no-so-lazy raft ride. Our day was cut just a little short by a thunderstorm, but we have made a list of the things we want to do next time. (.... a little expensive for another trip this year, so it will have to wait for next.)

We don't have too many exciting plans for the rest of the week. We have a couple of house projects to do and my mother-in-law is here til Sunday. We will probably take advantage of the babysitter and play some tennis tomorrow morning and maybe a movie tomorrow night. I can't wait to see that second Pirates of the Carribean!
